Give back to the Claremont Senior Program

The Claremont Senior Program provides needed, highly-valued services and opportunities for older adults. Without the support of the community, meeting the needs of Claremont’s senior population would be difficult. The Claremont Senior Foundation is holding its annual Friends Campaign to raise monies to support opportunities and services, which include the meal program and activities at our local senior centers.

Funds received are used to enhance programs for seniors at Joslyn, Blaisdell and Hughes, as well as throughout our community. The most popular classes offered to seniors revolve around fitness, but there are many others. More than a dozen activities take place each week including pilates, aerobics, genealogy, sewing, art classes, Philosophy 101, silk painting, Chinese language study and card-making.

Senior Excursions travel to such destinations as the Hollywood Bowl, Catalina Island and JPL.

More than 250 seniors take advantage of the CALL Program and audit classes at the Claremont Colleges each year at no cost. The popular After Work programs offer speakers and tours of local places of interest.

The Claremont Senior Program has a creative and involved staff, 275 volunteers and many partner organizations. Gifts may be made by check to the Claremont Senior Foundation, Inc., and submitted to the Joslyn Center, 660 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont, CA 91711.
