Foothill Gold Line to have open house in Claremont

The Foothill Gold Line will be holding a Community Open House on Wednesday, April 29 in the Padua Room at the Alexander Hughes Community Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Project representatives and Claremont station artist Joyce Kohl will be available to speak with visitors one-on-one about the station design and art, project funding and more. There will be no formal presentation at the open house, so arrive anytime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Foothill Gold Line from Azusa to Montclair is a 12.3-mile extension of the Metro Gold Line light rail system that currently runs between Pasadena and Los Angeles. The Azusa to Montclair extension will include six future stations in the cities of Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Claremont and Montclair, and is now undergoing advanced design to ready the project for ground breaking in 2017.  The Alexander Hughes Community Center is located at 1700 Danbury Road, Claremont.
