Claremont Hills Wilderness Park closures for wildfire training
The Los Angeles County Fire Department will be training and clearing brush in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park in anticipation of fire season. The park will be closed to the public Monday, June 8 through Wednesday, June 10 in the mornings and will reopen to the public at 1 p.m. each day.
The drought has made for an especially dry and long fire season and increased the risk of brush fire throughout California. The drill is an opportunity for Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Department of Forestry, CERT and the Claremont Police Department to collaborate on emergency response tactics and practice inter-agency communication.
For more information, contact the police department at (909) 399-5411.
