Council ready to talk water with city of La Verne

On the agenda for the upcoming Claremont City Council on Tuesday, September 22 will be a follow-up on La Verne’s exploration into a partnership with the city to take over the water system, according to City Manager Tony Ramos.

The La Verne City Council will approve the tentative agreement during their meeting on Monday September 21, which hangs on whether or not Claremont has the standing to claim eminent domain over the water system.

The trial to determine the city’s standing with water rights begins on March 7, 2016.

The council will convene at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chamber, located at 225 W. Second Street.
