Claremont police arrest two after short pursuit

Claremont police arrested two suspects after a short pursuit Tuesday morning.

The suspects were driving a red Toyota Corolla that was reported stolen out of El Monte, Claremont Police Sergeant David DeMetz told the COURIER.

Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop at approximately 10:45 a.m. on the 1400 block of Claremont Boulevard with guns drawn. Up to eight officers were on the scene, including a police helicopter surveying the area.

The two suspects, who were considered armed and dangerous, were detained without incident. Claremont police are working with the El Monte Police Department to complete the investigation. The suspects are currently being held at the Claremont jail.

The COURIER will have more information as the story develops.
