Stretch of Harrison Ave closed due to power outage

A westbound section of Harrison Avenue between Mountain Avenue and California Drive will be closed due to an unplanned power outage in the area.

According to a statement from the Claremont Police Department, the stretch of Harrison will be closed as Southern California Edison works to repair power lines.

Parents of children at El Roble Intermediate School are being directed to pick up their children on Mountain Avenue as the school parking lot is closed. Only buses are currently allowed to enter El Roble’s school parking lot, the CPD says.

It is unknown when the stretch of road will re-open. The CPD is urging drivers to use Bonita Avenue as an alternative to Harrison.

Check back to the COURIER for more information as it develops.
