Police seek information on attempted burglary in north Claremont

Claremont police officers responded to a possible residential burglary in progress call on Wednesday, March 16 at approximately 4 p.m.  A witness saw three men run from a residence in the 600 block of Brigham Young Drive at Mills Avenue, enter a waiting vehicle and flee the area.

All three subjects were described as African American males, wearing black-hooded sweatshirts and white gloves. The vehicle is reported to be a newer, silver, 4-door vehicle similar to a Jetta with tinted windows. The license plate contained the letter “W.”

It was determined by police that the subjects did not make entry to the residence but, based on statements from witnesses and the homeowner, it is believed there was intent to burglarize the home. The witness stated that the vehicle had been driving around in the area prior to the attempt burglary.
Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or its occupants should contact the Claremont Police Detective Bureau at (909) 399-5420.
