Man finds out hard way that eight is enough

On Friday, June 10 police arrested a Monrovia man on drug charges after he called police eight times in a 30-minute span. Pedro Garcia, 38, first called police from a phone at the Claremont Lodge at 10:14 a.m. While the responding officer was waiting for backup, a second call to the police was made from Mr. Garcia’s room. Police then checked on him and initially cleared him of any wrongdoing. After the police left, Mr. Garcia called police six more times. When officers responded again at 10:47 a.m., they conducted a more thorough check and found that Mr. Garcia was under the influence of methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to CPD jail.
