New Kiwanis-sponsored Key Club at San Antonio High

The Kiwanis Club of Claremont is sponsoring a newly established Key Club for students at San Antonio High School. A chartering ceremony and reception was held May 25.

Recently installed officers are President Dylan Bush; Vice President Andrew McDaniels; Secretary Julissa Ahumada; Treasurer Trevor Schwartz; and Publicity/Historian Alize Padilla. Currently the new club has more than 60 members.

Serving as liaisons from the Kiwanis Club are Tressa Kentner, Steven Llanusa, Raul Rodriguez and Barbara Rugeley. San Antonio faculty advisors are Jessica Ly, Melissa Salter and Ana Velasquez.

The objectives of a Key Club are to develop initiative and leadership; to provide experience in living and working together; to serve the school and community; to cooperate with the school principal, and to prepare for useful citizenship.

The Kiwanis Club of Claremont also sponsors the Key Club at Claremont High School and the Circle K Club at the Claremont Colleges. For more information contact Membership Chairman Jess Swick at (909) 621-2996.
