A man wearing a yellow surgical mask entered the Shell gas station on the 1000 block of West Foothill Boulevard at about 8:25 a.m., brandished a small chrome revolver and demanded cash, according to Sgt. Robert Ewing of the Claremont Police Department.

The clerk complied and handed over an unknown amount of cash. The robber then fled the scene in a silver vehicle and headed northbound on Towne Avenue, Sgt. Ewing said.

The robber is described as Caucasian or Hispanic, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 170-180 pounds. In addition to the surgical mask, he was wearing a blue baseball cap, sunglasses, a blue long-sleeved shirt and jean shorts.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
