La Verne man arrested for CUSD district office break-in

Police arrested a La Verne man Friday evening after he allegedly broke into the Claremont Unified School District office through the ceiling vents.

Gary Alridge, 23, was apprehended after employees at the office, located at 170 W. San Jose Ave., called police around 5:45 p.m., stating that a man had broken into the computer room, Claremont police said in a release. Mr. Alridge reportedly removed an exterior vent and crawled through the ceiling vents to get to the computer room.

Mr. Alridge fled the scene before officers arrived, but was apprehended nearby, police said. He was arrested for burglary and transported to CPD jail.
