Worried about keeping your business safe?
Officers from the Claremont?Police Department will offer a “Violence in the Workplace” presentation next week to help local business owners prevent and properly react to violence at work.
The free event, which includes a question-and-answer-session, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18 from 11 a.m. to noon at the DoubleTree Hotel, 555 W. Foothill Blvd.
“Time and time again it has been proven that those who had a plan, or had thought about how to respond, would have fared better than those who panicked and froze during a violent event at the workplace,” a press release stated. The focus of the presentation is the principle of “Run, Hide, Fight” and includes a short video. Police hope attendees will walk away from the presentation with a sense of empowerment to keep their employees as safe as possible.
The presentation is open to all Claremont business owners and employees. Those interested in attending should RSVP with a business name and phone number to Lisa Amaya at (909) 399-5404 or by emailing her at lamaya@ci.claremont.ca.us.
If you would like more information, contact Sergeant David De Metz at (909) 399-5411 or email him at ddemetz@ci.claremont.ca.us.
