Human remains found near 10 freeway and Indian Hill
At around 12:23 p.m., Claremont Police received a call from the CHP regarding human remains found near the eastbound on-ramp of the 10 Freeway at Indian Hill Blvd.
California Transportation workers were conducting roadside cleanup when they discovered what they believed to be human bones. The CHP responded and confirmed that the bones were human and called Claremont PD to investigate.
Officers and detectives responded to the scene, cordoned off the area and requested the assistance of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Scene Investigators. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office removed the remains.
The cause of death or identity of the victim is unknown at this time, pending analysis by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, according to police.
