Man struck by train west of Indian Hill Boulevard

A pedestrian is in serious condition after getting struck by a Metrolink train Friday morning.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was struck just west of the Indian Hill crossing around 10:45 a.m., according to Lt. Lori Davenport of the Claremont Police Department.

“It appears he was most likely crossing in an area he shouldn’t have been, but that’s what we’re investigating,” Lt. Davenport said.

He was transported to a hospital in serious condition. There were no other injuries, Lt. Davenport said.

Train 321 to Los Angeles, the train involved in the incident, has been delayed up to 80 minutes, Metrolink said on Twitter. Two San Bernardino-bound trains were also delayed due to the accident.
