Two Claremont restaurants burglarized over the weekend

Two Claremont businesses fell victim to burglaries over the holiday weekend.

An unknown burglar broke into The Junction on the 1 block of N. Indian Hill Boulevard early Saturday morning by removing the deadbolt lock with an unidentified tool, the Claremont Police Department said in a statement. Once inside, the burglar stole the cash register and fled undetected.

Surveillance footage captured the burglar, who has been described as a tall and slender man wearing all dark clothing and a hooded jacket, police said.

A burglar also broke into Euro Café on the 500 block of East Base Line Road early Monday morning. The suspect reportedly smashed the glass door to gain entry to the business, stealing a cash register and fleeing undetected, police said.

Based on surveillance footage from the scene, the suspect is described as a tall and slender man wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt.

Officers are advising businesses to remove cash from the registers before locking up for the night and to activate the alarm when the business is closed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
