Chevron station robbed by scooter-riding suspect
Police are looking for a man who robbed a south Claremont Chevron station early Friday morning and fled on a scooter.
The suspect entered the gas station on the 800 block of south Indian Hill Boulevard around 2:09 a.m., reportedly stole a pair of gloves and brandished a handgun at the clerk as he was leaving, Sgt. Hector Tamayo of the Claremont Police Department said in a statement.
The robber then fled on the eastbound 10 freeway on a black “Buddy” brand scooter.
He is described as a 40-45-year-old Hispanic man, five feet, ten inches tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black motorcycle helmet, a black leather jacket, blue jeans, black and white gloves and a black and white blanket attached to his back like a cape, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
