Duarte man double dips, arrested twice in 48 hours
On Monday, Decemner 26 a Duarte man was arrested twice in two days, once for drug charges and resisting arrest during a traffic stop and another for prowling in a back yard. Police pulled over a car driven by 25-year-old Anthony Edwards for expired tags around 9:20 p.m. Mr. Edwards initially gave a false name to police, which rang up as being on felony probation. When officers asked Mr. Edwards to step out of the car, he took off, heading south on Towne Avenue before jumping over a wall and into the backyard of a home on the 1100 block of Morningside, Cpl. Reyes said.
Officers followed and arrested him. During an investigation police found meth and drug paraphernalia and determined Mr. Edwards was under the influence of narcotics. He was arrested again in the same neighborhood shortly after being released from jail. Around 10 a.m., a witness said Mr. Edwards and another man were in her backyard. Mr. Edwards told police he was looking for a cell phone he lost the previous night. He was arrested on suspicion of prowling. The other man, 26-year-old Aries McDaniels of Eastvale, initially gave a false ID to police and had a no-bail warrant out for his arrest.
