New year brings wet, coldish weather

The Southern California mountains were blanketed with over a foot of snow New Year’s morning, as several fast moving storm systems continued to race through the area from Claremont to Big Bear Lake, bringing all sorts of winter weather. And it’s not over. This weekend will bring warmer temperatures, but more rain that will continue into next week. On Sunday, the highs will actually reach unseasonable 70s. On Monday, the temperatures will drop, but will make way for even a bigger system with more rain. Not a lot of snow in the mountains because of the warm-up, with snow only dropping at higher altitudes. Check out our cool video shot New Year’s morning in Big Bear after a fresh dusting.
