Four break-ins yield only $10 in Claremont burglary spree

On Wednesday, February 8 four Claremont businesses were broken into, but only sustained $10 total in property loss. The first burglary occurred at the Cajun Crab on Auto Center Drive around 3:26 a.m., when a delivery driver noticed three suspects exiting the building and getting into a light-colored sedan and headed north on Indian Hill Boulevard. Officers determined through security footage that the thieves threw a cash register on the floor, but it did not open and nothing was taken. Officers then discovered that Mr. You Express had also been smashed, police said. Once again, nothing was stolen from that business and it appears the burglars did not enter.

Two other burglaries were reported on Foothill Boulevard a short time later. Officers responded to an alarm at Supercuts on the 900 block of west Foothill Boulevard just after 5 a.m. When they arrived, they found a window smashed at the business and 10 dollars taken from the register. Police then responded to another burglary at 9:22 a.m. at a business on the 600 block of west Foothill Boulevard. The burglar cut a screen to the front window and entered the business, but nothing was taken.
