Burglar smashes Cajun Crab glass door, steals cash register

Police are investigating an early Saturday morning burglary at the Cajun Crab in south Claremont.

Officers arrived to the restaurant on the 400 block of Auto Center Drive just before 12:50 a.m. to find that a burglar had smashed the front door glass of the business, stealing the cash register and the tip jar, according to a release from the Claremont Police Department.

Surveillance footage from the scene captured the burglar in the act, grabbing the items and fleeing the restaurant from the smashed front door. Based on the footage, the burglar is described as either Caucasian or Hispanic, about five feet, eight inches tall and 230 pounds with a thick moustache. He was wearing a light colored hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes with white laces, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
