Two Claremont businesses hit by early-morning burglaries

Police are investigating two early morning Claremont burglaries that could be connected to another burglary in Redlands.

Claremont officers were called to the T-Mobile store on the 400 block of Auto Center Drive around 3:45 a.m. Monday morning for a burglary alarm, according to a release from the CPD. As officers were investigating, another alarm activated at a Verizon store nearby.

Both locations had their front windows smashed, police said. The property loss is currently unknown.

A witness at a nearby bus stop claimed to have heard two loud bangs and saw a silver four-door Honda or Acura leave the scene, police said. The suspects are described as African-American men, one wearing a black hoodie with gray sleeves, gray sweatpants and black shoes and the other wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes and carrying a crowbar and a duffel bag.

The Redlands Police Department advised that a similar burglary occurred at a Sprint Store in Redlands recently. Based on video footage from the scene, the suspects matched the description in the Redlands case.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
