Men’s watches stolen during Village business burglary

At 12:36 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, two suspects smashed a glass window pane to gain entry to the breezeway between Xerxes and Cheese Cave on the 300 block of Yale Avenue.

The duo arrived in a newer-model black Dodge Ram truck and parked in the lot behind the business, according to video surveillance collected by the Claremont Police Department.

Once in the breezeway, the thieves smashed the glass side door leading into Xerxes, entered the clothing store and stole several watches from a display case. The suspects then fled in the Dodge Ram.

Police describe the second suspect as a Hispanic male, 25 to 35 years old, also five feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt with yellow print on the chest, dark cargo pants and black shoes at the time of the burglary.

The car is a newer-model black Dodge Ram 1500 four-by-four with a black rear paper plate with white writing and no front license plate.
