Thieves swipe cell phone at Sprint Store

Police are looking for two men who swiped a cell phone at a the Sprint Store Saturday evening.

The theft occurred at the business on the 400 block of Auto Center Drive around 7:10 p.m. According to a release from the Claremont Police Department, two men entered, one staying by the door while the other perused a display case. The thief near the display case then yanked a display phone from its security cord and the two men fled from the store, police said.

The two thieves fled in a black Pontiac G6 with black and yellow paper plates, police said. A “white license place” could be seen underneath the rear paper plate, police added.

The thief who stole the cell phone is described as an African-American man 18-20 years old, five feet, four inches and 150 pounds, wearing jeans, a white shirt and a hat. The accomplice is described as an African-American man 18-20 years old, five feet, nine inches tall and 170 pounds, also wearing jeans, a white shirt and a hat. The second suspect also had silver teeth, police said.
