Man robs Claremont Motel 6, police investigating

Police are investigating an armed robbery that ocurred at the Claremont Motel 6 Friday morning.

The robbery occurred around 6:33 a.m., when the suspect entered the business on 840 south Indian Hill Boulevard, brandished a black semiautomatic handgun at the clerk and demanded cash, according to a release from the Claremont Police Department.

The clerk cooperated and gave the robber the cash from the register. The robber then exited through the west door of the lobby and was last seen walking southbound on the east side of the motel.

No vehicle was seen during the incident, police said.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man in his 40s, about five feet, 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing white tennis shoes, black pants, a gray long-sleeve button-up shirt, gray beanie, dark sunglasses, a gray bandanna around his neck, a mustache and tattoos on his neck. He was wearing a white latex glove on his right hand, police added.
