Claremont Rotary ushers out president in style

Rotary Club of Claremont ushers out president, installs new one

The Rotary Club of Claremont held its annual farcical roast (good-natured debunking) of the outgoing club president John Allen last Friday.

Mr. Allen cheerfully withstood the well-meaning insults and sight gags from a group of fellow Rotarians—including from Buff Wright, below—the reward for a job well done. Under his leadership, the club supported numerous local organizations and charitable causes, including Hope Partners, Girl and Boy Scouts, AbilityFirst, Bikes for Kids, Claremont Girls Softball and Little League, as well as leadership programs for local youth and international projects. Incoming President Bonita Ramos will begin her term with the Rotary dunk tank at the July Fourth celebration in Memorial Park. Proceeds will be used to help Claremont Rotary continue its service to the community.
