Homeowner watches burglars flee house, police investigating

Police are looking for two burglars who were seen fleeing the house by the homeowner Thursday evening.

The victim was arriving at her home on the 1600 block of North Mills Avenue around 5:39 p.m. when she saw it being burglarized by the two suspects, the Claremont Police Department said in a release. A female suspect was seen running from the house and into an awaiting black 4-door sedan, possibly a Chevy Cruze, driven by a male suspect.

An unknown amount of jewelry was taken from the home, police said.

The vehicle fled southbound on Mills Avenue and then east on Foothill Boulevard.

The female suspect is described as Hispanic with shoulder-length curly brown hair, wearing a white shirt and in her late 20s or early 30s. The male suspect is described as Hispanic with short brown hair, light skin, a thin build and wearing a black shirt.
