The Economy Shop is ready to reopen this week

The Economy Shop of Claremont will open September 6, after its summer recess. Claremont’s downtown thrift shop, located at 325 W. First St., has a brand-new bright blue awning and a brand-new exterior paint job.

Inside, customers will find gently-used merchandise including clothing for both adults and children, books, small household goods and various other treasures. Many of the volunteers and pricers have said that they feel this is the best and most exciting inventory the shop has ever had on its shelves.

The Economy Shop is a nonprofit organization entirely staffed by volunteers. Profits from sales provide help to local agencies assisting those in need.

The shop is opened Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Now is a good time to clean closets and shelves and help others at the same time. Tax-deductible donations are accepted during business hours and on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.
