Police investigating two Claremont break-ins

Police are looking for whoever broke into two Claremont businesses last week.

On November 1, officers responded to a burglary alarm at Jax Bicycle Shop around 10:51 p.m., according to a release from the Claremont Police Department. When officers arrived, they found the front door window had been shattered.

Surveillance footage from the scene showed two subjects approaching the bike shop on the 200 block of First Street, shattering the window with an unknown tool and fleeing the scene before making entry.

A witness described the suspects as male teens with average builds, wearing dark hoodies, police said. They were last seen running north on Harvard Avenue away from the business.

A burglar who broke into Boba Crepe later that night was more successful. Around 11:17 p.m., an officer was checking the area and saw a shattered front door at the restaurant at 328 south Indian Hill Boulevard.

The thief removed an unknown amount of cash from a back room and fled. There is no suspect information.

Police do not believe the two burglaries are related. Anyone with information on either burglary is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
