Claremont police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Knight’s Inn Tuesday night.

A male suspect entered the lobby of the motel around 10:28 p.m. and robbed the clerk at gunpoint, police said. The robber demanded money and stole an unknown amount of cash from the register.

The robber then fled from the lobby and was seen running westbound on San Jose Avenue. Police are describing him as a light-skinned man with a large build and between six feet and six feet-two inches tall, with a light beard. He was wearing a brown camouflage hat, blue jacket, olive green pants and maroon shoes.
