Two Pomona residents arrested for Claremont burglary

Claremont police arrested two people in connection with a Tuesday night burglary.

Sometime during the night on January 16, a home on the 100 block of American Avenue was burglarized, with the suspect gaining entry through an unlocked door while the resident was asleep, according to Lt. Jason Walters of the Claremont Police Department in a release. The suspects stole electronics, a wallet and other items.

Police were able to identify two Pomona residents, 40-year-old Sigfredo Arias Jr, and 43-year-old Jennifer Camara, through investigative tactics. Mr. Arias was currently on probation out of Los Angeles County.

Police conducted a probation search at a home on the 1500 block of Second Avenue in Pomona Thursday and found stolen items from the burglary, but Mr. Arias and Ms. Camara were not home, Lt. Walters said.

Later that night, LA County Sheriffs arrested Mr. Arias and Ms. Camara on an unrelated investigation, and Claremont officers took them into custody.

Mr. Arias was booked for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. Ms. Camara was booked for possession of stolen property.

Both were held for court at CPD jail pending their scheduled court appearance.
