Next round of rain arrives Friday

Well it certainly looks like winter in the San Gabriel mountains. Just don’t expect it to last long. A fast moving storm did drop several inches of snow near Mt. Baldy Village early Tuesday, with slightly more in higher elevations. Claremont received around a half an inch of rain, depending how far north you live. But if you are waiting for more winter weather, another cold system will blow through here on Friday, it just won’t have a lot of precipitation. Temperatures will remain cool this week, with highs only in the 50s and lows around 40. The next two weeks out have no precipitation in the forecast, but temperatures will increase to near 70. Winter may not be over, but the chances of any significant rain or snow are definitely dropping. COURIER photo/Peter Weinberger
