Library to close for major renovation

The Claremont Library will close on Monday, April 16 for about six months for renovations, according to a news release from the County of Los Angeles Public Library.

Work will be done to improve the public restrooms, including a new gender-neutral restroom, adult area, circulation area, and installation of a new HVAC system. Additionally, drought-tolerant landscaping will be installed and the parking lot will be resurfaced.

While the library is under renovation, customers wishing for full LA County Library services can visit either the La Verne or San Dimas libraries. Claremont Library employees will operate at a temporary location, in the Settlers Room at the Alexander Hughes Center located at 1700 Danbury Rd., beginning Tuesday, April 17. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People can request to pick up book holds and to return materials. Children’s activities will also be held at the Hughes Center during the renovation period.
