Claremont Meals on Wheels hosts volunteer recognition dinner
Claremont Meals on Wheels is celebrating their 45th anniversary by hosting a recognition dinner beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the DoubleTree, located at 555 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont.
Claremont Mayor Opanyi Nasiali will present Claremont Meals on Wheels with a certificate of honor. The dinner will recognize the hard work and dedication of the volunteers that have been at Meals on Wheels for many years. Some volunteers were even a part of the original executive board when it was established in 1973.
The evening starts at 5 p.m. with dinner and raffle prizes at 6 p.m. The event ends by 8 p.m. Various businesses, like the DoubleTree and Corey Nursery Co, are donating supplies for the dinner. Private donations are covering the dinner costs for all volunteers, while volunteers’ guests will be charged $20. To RSVP, call Ginny Schirripa, event coordinator, at (909) 625-7219. Volunteers’ guests will pay at the door when they arrive to the dinner.
