‘80s-themed gala to support adults with disabilities

EMS assists individuals with disabilities in finding employment, and Employment Means Success (EMS).

EMS, Inc. recently gained CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accreditation.  CARF audits organizations working in the human-services field worldwide and is the gold standard in making sure donated funds go directly to help those who need it.

According to the EDD, the current unemployment rate in California is 5.5 percent. An individual with a disability has an unemployment rate of more than 30 percent. EMS Inc. helps six individuals with a disability per week find a job in the field of their choice.

The organization will host an 80’s-themed silent auction and fundraiser with proceeds going to expand services in California.

The event, which includes dinner and dancing, will take place Saturday, April 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Padua Hills Theatre, 4467 Padua Ave. in Claremont. Tickets are $50 per person or $89 per couple.

Local businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor or donate to the silent auction. For sponsorship opportunities, visit employmentms.org.

Tax-deductible donations will be acknowledged on the EMS website, marketing materials and at the event.

To donate or for questions, contact Kari Anderson by email to kari@employmentms.org or by calling (909) 519-3178 or (909) 621-7403.
