Burglars smash T-Mobile door with sledgehammer
Two burglars, one armed with a sledgehammer, broke into T-Mobile early Monday morning.
Claremont officers arrived to the mobile store at 416 Auto Center Drive just after 1 a.m. in response to a burglary alarm. They found the front glass door shattered, according to a release from the Claremont Police Department.
Video surveillance from the business shows the two burglars approaching the store on foot from the east, with one shattering the glass door with a dark-colored sledgehammer, police said. The burglars then enter the store, taking an unknown amount of merchandise before fleeing less than a minute later on foot, police said.
The cash registers were empty at the time of the burglary, and no getaway vehicle was seen.
Both suspects were wearing dark-colored hoodies with the hoods up and cinched almost closed, covering both their faces, police said.
The suspect with the sledgehammer is described as a man aged 18-20 years old, five feet, eight inches tall and 160 pounds wearing gray shoes, dark pants and gray gloves, police said.
The second suspect is described as a man 18-20 years old, five feet, eight inches tall and 160 pounds wearing red shoes, dark pants, dark gloves and carrying a black satchel.
