Police looking for suspects in Euro Cafe burglary
Police are investigating an overnight burglary at Euro Café.
The break-in occurred around 1:57 a.m. Monday morning, when two burglars used an unknown object to smash the front glass at the restaurant at 546 east Base Line Road, according to a release from the Claremont Police Department.
The burglary alarm was activated, and police were at the scene within minutes. The burglars had already fled, and there was no property loss.
Surveillance footage from the scene showed the two suspects in action. They are both described as possible males, unknown ages and average height and weight, wearing gloves. One suspect was seen wearing sweatpants and a hoodie covering their face, and the other was seen wearing sweatpants, a t-shirt and a towel covering their head and face. No suspect vehicle is seen.
Euro Café has fallen victim to a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries in the past few years. In 2013, the restaurant and other businesses in the Vons shopping center petitioned the owner to implement better security measures, including lighting, according to a previous COURIER report.
Anyone with information about the burglary should call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
