Solar eclipse casts shadow over Claremont

The eclipse did not totally obscure the sun from the Claremont viewing area, but did dim the late evening light when this photo was taken at 6:41p.m. Sunday. The rare event gave millions in the western United States front-row seats to a spectacle that hadn’t been witnessed in 18 years. The best viewing areas were located in Northern California and Oregon, among others. If you took an eclipse photo, go to the COURIER Facebook page and share with our 1700 friends.
