Police investigating brazen Baskin-Robbins burglary

Police are investigating an early morning burglary at Baskin-Robbins.

Around 3:45 a.m., the unknown burglar shattered the front glass door of the ice cream shop located at 602 east Base Line Road, activating the burglary alarm, police said in a release.

A witness who was driving in the area saw the scene unfold—a black, early 2000s Toyota Camry or similar vehicle was seen backed into a parking stall in front of Baskin-Robbins. A second suspect in the car started honking the horn, at which point the first burglar ran out of the business, entered the car and sped westbound on Base Line Road, police said.

There was no known property loss, police added.

The suspect who entered the business is described as a man wearing a hooded jacket or sweatshirt. No license plate was seen on the car, and surveillance footage from the scene was unable to be viewed, police said.

The ice cream shop has fallen victim to a number of burglaries in the past, most recently on June 17, where an unknown burglar smashed the front window with a sledgehammer, according to a previous COURIER report.

Anyone with information should call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
