Smoke of a distant fire

Smoke from the Holy Fire in the Cleveland National Forest made for a colorful sunrise Tuesday morning in the City of Trees. There was an unmistakable smell of smoke and a light layer of ash on flat surfaces as the distant fire spread to 4000 acres overnight. Fire danger in our own hillsides remains high and the Wilderness Park remains closed due to the red flag warnings. COURIER photo/Steven Felschundneff
