Police give chase, yet pass on high-speed pursuit

On Monday, October 1 a home burglary suspect is on the run after getting away from Claremont police in a high-speed pursuit. Police were called to a home on the 800 block of Culmore Street around 11:30 a.m. after a neighbor claimed to witness a residential burglary, Lt. Walters said. When police arrived, they found a white four-door sedan driving away from the scene on Towne and Butte, and gave chase. The suspect led police on a high-speed chase up Towne Avenue to the 210 freeway. Due to the reckless nature of the suspects’ driving, police called off the chase. The getaway car was last seen going westbound on the 210 toward Sunflower in Glendora. A burglary was confirmed at the home, and miscellaneous jewelry and a laptop were stolen.
