Windstorm topples trees, cuts power

City of Claremont maintenance workers Joe Ybarra and Robert Verboys clear a fallen tree off of Radcliffe Avenue during a major windstorm Monday morning. The fallen oak closed Radcliffe until the city crew got one lane open around 8 a.m. Other trees fell around the city in the early morning hours including several along Eighth Street in the Village. Additionally a large eucalyptus fell in Memorial Park which took out an electrical line resulting in a power outage for the area. COURIER photo/Steven Felschundneff
