Man caught passing fake $100 bill in Claremont

On October 15, 2018, at about 12:30 PM, the suspect entered a business in the Claremont Village and used a counterfeit $100 bill to make a purchase. Claremont police located the suspect and arrested him for passing a counterfeit bill and a traffic warrant. He was identified as Ronald Porter, 47-years-old, a transient, and on probation for burglary. Follow-up investigation led to the discovery that Porter passed counterfeit $100 bills at two additional businesses in the Village.
