Fundraiser for injured CHS student Friday
A fundraiser for a severely injured CHS student will be held at El Ranchero Restaurant, 984 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, on Friday, November 2 from 4 to 10 p.m. Claremont High School senior Alexander “Albee” Harris 17, shattered his C5 vertebrae and injured his spinal cord while making his pro motocross debut on August 19, and is now an incomplete quadriplegic. His family and friends are working hard to raise funds to help defray the significant costs associated with the extensive physical therapy, medicine and specialized equipment a quadriplegic requires. On Friday, diners at El Ranchero will have an opportunity to help the family by presenting a copy of the flyer available at albeestrong.org at checkout. The restaurant will donate a percentage of participants’ receipts toward to the cause, but the flyer must be presented. Donations can also be made any time through a Go Fund Me page at gofundme.com/albee-strong. More info is at albeestrong.org.
