The Wolfpack has extended its winning streak to seven straight games defeating Santiago Corona, 14-7, on Wednesday at home.

A day earlier they got another win, 21-14, over La Serna, and last Thursday topped St Lucy’s 22-7.

The girls had an away game against Los Osos after press time on Thursday.

Claremont High School has been busy in early season tournaments including the Murrieta Tip Off Classic and El Rancho Blue Pride Classic.

So far their record is pretty evenly split at 5-6, but even when the Pack loses the games have been close.

On Monday Claremont narrowly lost an away game against Walnut, 62-60. The Pack had a two-point lead at the half but went cold in the third quarter and trailed 50-38. The boys rallied in the final quarter but were not quite able to close the gap.

Head Coach Stan Tolliver has a pretty young team with just three seniors, six juniors, two sophomores and two freshmen.

Other recent results include a 55-49 win over Sunny Hills on Saturday, a 54-45 win over Irvine on Friday and a 66-57 loss to Schurr on Thursday.

Their next game will be an away Palomares League opening game against Alta Loma on December 18.

Boys soccer

Claremont improved its record on Saturday, defeating Chaffey 2-0 at home. The boys are now 3-2 and will host Riverside’s Notre Dame on Friday.

Girls Basketball

Claremont lost two games in the San Dimas tournament last week. On Tuesday Roosevelt got a pretty easy, 51-22, win but on Wednesday the game was a much closer 53-41 loss to Don Lugo. The tournament continues this weekend but Claremont’s next opponent was unknown at press time.

The girls are currently 6-2 overall in pre-league play.
