Heavy rains pound Claremont

Dee Proffitt wasn’t the only Claremonter impacted by heavy rains that hit the city this afternoon. The forecast for off and on rain showers Wednesday became a reality as flooding rains started pounding the Claremont Village just after 1:30 p.m. A large storm cell literally hovered over the city and as of 2:20 p.m. and was actually growing in size reaching all the way to Chino. The forecast for the remainder of the day is for more rain, in some cases heavy. The fast moving storm should blow through the area by 6 p.m. The forecast for Thursday is for more rain, sometimes heavy in spots with flooding. High temperature for the day will be 63 degrees.
