Police host free movies in the park next week

The Claremont Police Department returns this summer with its annual “Movies in the Park” series.

The police invite you to bring your friends and family to watch a free movie under the stars in your neighborhood park.

Launching the series this year on Thursday, June 20 is a screening of The Lego Ninjago Movie at Lewis Park, 881 Syracuse Dr.

Next up is the animated film Sherlock Gnomes, which will screen on Tuesday, July 9 at Blaisdell Park, 440 S. College Ave.

Just two nights later, on Thursday, July 11, the police will show Small Foot at June Vail Park on Grand Avenue and Bluefield Drive.

The series will close on Tuesday, August 6 with National Night Out at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd., with a screening of Ralph Breaks the Internet, plus information and exhibits on neighborhood safety presented by Claremont Police Department.

The summer movie series is hosted by the Claremont Police Department and is free and open to the community. Movies start at dusk, but arrive early to stake out a good spot and enjoy a picnic.
