On Friday evenings in August from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden will feature movies in the outdoors of California’s Native Garden. Enjoy classic family-friendly films, highlighting native plants.

Each evening, guests will receive a field guide to the plants featured in these famous films, ranging from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial to The Muppet Movie. During intermission, RSABG staff will discuss the plants and landscapes seen in the movies.

Movie dates are August 2, Homeward Bound The Incredible Journey; August 9, Rango; August 16, The Muppet Movie (1979); August 23, ET the Extra-Terrestrial. A special August 30 evening is planned for members only with a screening of Flight of the Butterflies.

Bring blankets and portable chairs. Canvas chairs will be for sale and seating will be available. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Movies begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 3 to 12; $8 for member adult, $5 member child, and are at the admissions kiosk or online in advance. Ticket price includes parking and evening admission to the garden.
