Two arrested for counterfeit bills, stolen credit cards, loaded gun

Two people were arrested after drugs, counterfeit bills and stolen credit cards were found in a stolen car.

On August 5 at approximately 10:10 a.m., a Claremont officer located a stolen Ford F-150 parked near the office of Knight’s Inn on the 700 block of south Indian Hill Boulevard, Lt. Karlan Bennett of the Claremont Police Department said.

Two Rialto residents, 35-year-old Andres Alvaro Lara and 37-year-old Carolina Oyarzabal, were arrested without incident. During a search of the truck, officers allegedly found meth, syringes and counterfeit $100 bills as well as a loaded .45 caliber handgun underneath the driver’s seat, Lt. Bennett said.

Numerous stolen credit cards were also found, along with credit cards that had been altered with the suspects’ names embossed on them along with a credit card embosser, Lt. Bennett said.

Mr. Lara was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a loaded handgun, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of personal identifying information for identity theft.

Ms. Oyarzabal was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of counterfeit bills and possession of personal information for identity theft.
