Three people were arrested—two adults from Compton and Carson, and a juvenile from Los Angeles—for residential burglary just before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A neighbor noticed an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Loop Branch, north of Mt. Baldy Road and east of Padua. A Claremont police officer arrived and contacted the driver, who had a police radio scanner and was talking on a cell phone, according to police.

While speaking with the driver, the officer believed that a residential burglary was in progress and requested additional assistance. Numerous Claremont police officers responded, and it was determined that a residential burglary had just occurred, and two suspects were outstanding.

With assistance from the Ontario Police Department helicopter, the two suspects were found hiding in thick brush on a steep hillside nearby. All three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Claremont Police Department jail.
