Car fire closes the 210 freeway

An apparent two car collision resulted in a fire that caused havoc for motorists Monday morning on the 210 freeway. The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. on the westbound lane of the freeway near the Mountain Avenue overpass in Claremont. Emergency personnel shut the freeway down while the fire department was dispatched to extinguish the flames. The freeway closure resulted in increased traffic on Claremont’s surface streets.
